Our story
A piece of furniture should be quiet enough to live with, and specific enough to be remembered.
From our workshop in Poznań, we design and build mid-century furniture by hand — bookcases, sideboards, desks, benches and tables, sharing one design language across many sizes, finishes and configurations. Plywood Project is the work of Dariusz Gapski and Katarzyna Kućko, made entirely in our own workshop.
One material runs through everything: plywood, in tones and grain we keep in full view. We dye each piece by hand in earthy wood tones — never paint, never lacquer. We sand by hand, until the surface turns soft under the palm. Every piece is built to order.
A signature runs through everything we make: an openwork leg, soft at every corner, diagonal where most furniture is square. It began as one drawn shape and stayed because it lets each piece play with the light around it — the silhouette we sign our work with.
Inside our workshop — Poznań
The collection grows slowly, on purpose — guided by what passes the test of being lived with, quietly, day after day, for years.
