The Challenge
Rien, near Copenhagen, was building a listening corner around a beautiful vintage Bang & Olufsen system — a Beogram 1000 turntable and a Beomaster 1000 receiver. He needed a compact piece that could:
hold the turntable at the right height, with the receiver on its own shelf just below
keep a growing vinyl collection upright and within arm's reach
sit quietly against a bright wall on herringbone parquet, in true Scandinavian spirit
ship flat-packed to Denmark and go together without fuss
The Solution
We proposed our Mini bookcase (H90 × W74 cm) with our signature curved plywood handles — and, following Rien's own drawing, we set the middle shelf in a custom position so the two tiers fit his hi-fi exactly: the Beogram on top, the Beomaster on the shelf below, and the full-width open bay beneath for records.
Finished in a warm acacia oil tone, the birch plywood picks up the honey warmth of the wooden floor and the muted palette of the room. It is a small piece doing a lot of work — furniture that steps back and lets the music, and the collection, take the stage.

Danish design, Danish sound
There is a quiet rhyme to this project: a Polish-made, Scandinavian-minded plywood piece holding an icon of Danish hi-fi, in a Danish home. The clean birch lines and the warm acacia tone sit naturally beside the brushed metal and rosewood of the B&O components — old and new, made for each other.
