Case study: Transparent sideboard for Dreamers Welcome Hotel, Wilmington (NC)
Minimalist cabinetry meets artistic interiors – a custom sideboard for a creative boutique hotel.
Client: Dreamers Welcome Hotel, Wilmington, North Carolina (USA)
Product: Custom cabinet sideboard / chest of drawers
Finish: Transparent
Function: Storage unit + decorative furniture in a lounge/lobby room
Delivery: Flat-packed, shipped via FedEx
The Challenge
Dreamers Welcome is a design-forward, artist-owned hotel located in a 19th-century home in Wilmington. Their interiors feature a strong mix of modern minimalism and curated vintage objects. The hotel team was looking for a statement furniture piece that could:
-
Blend quietly into the natural palette of the room
-
Serve as both functional storage and a canvas for decor
-
Be lightweight in appearance yet solid in craftsmanship
The Solution
We proposed our cabinet sideboard in transparent finish — a low-profile yet high-impact plywood piece designed to harmonize with a wide range of interior styles.
With minimal hardware and an exposed plywood edge, the cabinet added warmth and visual balance to the otherwise neutral room palette. Its linear form and subtle construction details offered a quiet confidence that aligned with the brand’s philosophy.
“This minimal plywood cabinet by @plywood_pro made a move to our owner’s suite and has been replaced by the Chinese altar from @threve_interiors. Still in love with this photo captured by @christiantorresphoto 🧢.”

A Piece that Anchors the Room
Placed between sculptural decor, artistic lighting and modern seating, the transparent-finish sideboard acts as a functional anchor in the composition of the room. It provides storage without visual heaviness and reflects the thoughtful minimalism that defines the Dreamers Welcome ethos.
Logistics
The piece was produced in our Warsaw studio and carefully packed as a flat-pack shipment, then sent by FedEx across the Atlantic. The hotel team assembled the sideboard on site with ease, preserving both shipping efficiency and product integrity.
Collaboration
This project reflects our shared belief in thoughtful, intentional design. We’re proud to have contributed a custom piece to a space that values not just aesthetics, but feeling.
